Addis Ababa Licenses more than 900 Projects

ADDIS ABABA (31/01/08) - The Addis Ababa City Investment Authority (AAIA) disclosed that it has licensed (944) nine hundred forty four projects with a combined capital of over 7.8 billion Birr; it would benefit more than 72 thousand people.

Ato Abraham Fantahun, the Promotion and Development Team Head with the AAIA, told Addis Ababa City Millennium Office that the Authority’s performance during the last six months exceeded that of the same period last year, due to motivation of people in the new millennium and proper promotion carried out by the authority.

“The suitable investment atmosphere and proper promotion activities that enabled the metropolis to attract investment,” he noted.

According to Ato Abraham, the licensed investment projects would create job opportunities for over 72 thousand casual and permanent job seekers.

The investors were licensed to engage in industry, education, health, construction and other investment sectors.
