"Listros (Shoe Shine) Project is to be launched"

Youngsters supporting their families and themselves being "Listros" are to be rewarded after competing for their ideas.

On the press conference given by Head of Overall Events, Shows and Competitions , Ato Teferi Yemane and "Listros" Project Coordinator Ato Mehiret Masresha on 20th October,2007 ,  their will be a festival to promote the idea of hardworking and to enable the voices of those who are engaged in low income generating activities, to be heard and get  the necessary support.

According to Ato Teferi, the idea brought by the "Listros Project " has a strong connection with the goals the secretariat set to eradicate poverty and bring about economic, social and political renaissance.

Coordinator of the "Listros Project" of Ethiopia  Ato Mehiret Masresha, said that the project was initiated by Ato Dawit Shanko with the objective of encouraging the youth who are engaged in small income generating activities and support their family and themselves. Ato Dawit Shanko used to be "Listro" while he was in Ethiopia and now he lives in Germany.

The project is being undertaken in collaboration with the Addis Ababa Millennium Secretariat.
