Understanding,cooperativeness in the New Millennium
Addis Ababa (30/7/2008)-Amen Ethiopia, an indigenous non- governmental organization expressed its commitment to work on strengthening the culture of peaceful coexistence, understanding and cooperativeness among citizens in the new Millennium.
In the press conference held on to announce the official launching of the association, President of the association Aba Petros Berga and the Vice President Doctor Solomon Nigus jointly told journalists that the association will work collaboratively with stake holders to foster the culture of understanding, giving heed to others ideas and outlooks and respectfulness among Ethiopians.
Aba Petros said, bringing up a generation that respects and give due attention for the views of its counterparts and accept gladly opposing ideas and outlooks is one of the major objectives of the association.
With the view of meeting its objectives, the association will host a series of panel discussions intended to raise the society’s awareness here in Ethiopia and abroad, said the President.
Speaking about members of the association, Vice president Dr. Solomon said, “all are with different professional, religious and ethnic background and, of course, this diversification, by itself, is a great help to accomplish the objectives of the association.”
Dr. Solomon also speaks of the association’s plan to organize Peace Mass Walk events in all regional states of the country.
