Workers of the Meta Abo plant trees

Addis Ababa (07/29/2008)-Workers of the Meta Abo Brewery Share Company and residents of the vicinity plant 10 thousand indigenous tree seedlings at the Mogle Mountain.

General Manager of the Company Solomon Kebede said on the occasion that around 5000 employees of the factory and residents of the surrounding took part in the treeplanting campaign.

Besides environmental protection, the trees harness the spring water which the factory uses as its major input to produce beer, Solomon said.

He recalled that employees of the factory had planted some 5000 indigenous tree seedlings during last year’s “2 trees  for 2000” campaign.

Solomon stressed that the factory and its employees will give due emphsis to the tree seedlings till they grow to the extent they can adopt the environment.

The spring water the factory uses, springs from the Mogle Mountain, it was learnt.
